Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
