Job summary

Mother’s Market in Newport Beach seeks a part-time Cashier to deliver fast, friendly checkout and help customers find what they need. You’ll ring up purchases, bag groceries, and keep your station neat in a busy store.

Requires basic math, clear English communication, and comfort with computerized registers. Prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus. Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings is expected; benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and discounts.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a warm and welcoming attitude
• Accurately ring up purchases using computerized registers
• Bag groceries with care, keeping customer preferences in mind
• Memorize product codes for produce and bulk items
• Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked throughout your shift
• Assist with store upkeep when not checking out customers (cleaning, stocking, facing shelves)
• Help customers locate products and answer questions
• Take and follow up on special orders with department managers
• Ensure price accuracy and report discrepancies on shelf tags
• Support overall store safety, cleanliness, and merchandising standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Lead Cashier

Hourly Pay: $16.90 – $19.80

What You will Do

• Greet every customer with a warm and welcoming attitude
• Accurately ring up purchases using computerized registers

What You Bring

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
• Frequent use of touchscreen registers and scanners
• Push/pull products across the scanner and handle cash
• Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, reach overhead, and climb ladders
• Answer phones and engage with customers face-to-face

Schedule Requirements

• Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
