Role Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system; handle various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies on postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
