Job description

Position Summary

Specializes in providing outstanding service to customers while running a register and working on the sales floor. Ensures that items meet the required stock levels and presentation standards, and that cleanliness and safety standards are met or exceeded. Greets customers in a friendly manner and suggestively sells products to help increase sales.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provides positive, personalized customer service by greeting each customer in a friendly manner, assisting with purchases, suggestively selling, and ensuring products are available for purchase.
  • Operates the Point of Sale (POS) system and monitors customer lines to expedite the sales process, prioritizing customer service needs.
  • Maintains knowledge of products and services offered and promotes company programs.
  • Adheres to all relevant regulations and prohibits the sale of age-restricted products to minors.
  • Responds to customer requests, resolves concerns following customer satisfaction guidelines, and reports issues to management.
  • Maintains store cleanliness, including counters, equipment, floors, and external areas. Performs light maintenance as needed.
  • Ensures equipment operates correctly and reports maintenance needs to management.
  • Follows company policies on grooming, cleanliness, uniform, and professional appearance.
  • Supports a safe environment, complying with health and sanitation practices.
  • Maintains proper stock levels, dating, and rotation of food products and supplies.
  • Attends training sessions and assists in training fellow associates.
  • Records all work hours accurately for compensation purposes.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements

Education: No formal education required.

Experience: Customer service experience preferred.

Skills: Basic computer skills, exceptional customer service, good communication, understanding of store operations, teamwork, respectful behavior, physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
