Cashier Role Responsibilities:
  1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at checkouts.
  2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  3. Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  7. Stay current with ongoing, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  8. Comply with all food safety regulations.
  9. Reinforce safety protocols, report unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
  10. Inspect equipment regularly and notify maintenance of repairs needed.
  11. Create a welcoming environment by engaging with customers and answering questions about products.
  12. Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  13. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  14. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  16. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  17. Support customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  18. Perform all essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodations.
