Responsibilities include:

• Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhering to company limits on cash shortages/overages and working honestly to control loss.
• Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Reporting pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Staying current with ads and promotions.
• Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
• Performing preventive maintenance, inspecting equipment, and reporting repairs.
• Creating a welcoming environment, assisting customers, and answering questions about products.
• Complying with all laws and company policies.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflict professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
• Following directions and seeking help when needed.
