Minimum Position Qualifications:

The Cashier/Checker is responsible for:

• Being visible, greeting, engaging, and assisting customers.
• Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhering to company limits on cash shortages or overages and working honestly to control loss.
• Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Reporting pricing discrepancies and adhering to policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Staying current with ads and promotions.
• Following all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practicing preventive maintenance on equipment and reporting repairs.
• Creating a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
• Complying with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
