Responsibilities:

1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout lane.
2. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers.
3. Adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
4. Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
5. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and adhere to food safety regulations.
6. Promote safety by following procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and inspecting equipment.
7. Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product inquiries and ensuring they feel valued.
8. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
9. Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
10. Act with honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality of customer and business information.
11. Follow instructions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
12. Support and assist diverse customer needs, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
