Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is seeking a Cashier for Blues Café to deliver quality service and accurate cash handling. You will participate in food preparation, set up serving areas, and serve employees with a courteous, health-focused approach.

Ideal candidates have prior cashier experience, a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), and the ability to lift 30 lbs while working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a cashier required.
• Organized and able to handle a variety of duties.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to follow instruction.
• Able to lift and carry 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality service to create an exceptional dining experience for employees.
• Follow cash/credit tendering procedures to secure and account for monies and transact cafeteria sales accurately.
• Assist with food preparation, setting up serving areas and serving employees.
• Clean the Blues Café area, utensils, and equipment.
• Serve as a team player delivering prompt, courteous service consistent with Health & Wellness values.

The Cashier is responsible for following cash/credit tendering procedures to ensure that monies are secured and accounted for, and that cafeteria sales are accurately transacted. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, food preparation, setting up serving areas and serving employees, and cleaning the Blues Café area, utensils, and equipment.
