Responsibilities
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
- Adhere to the company's cash shortage and overage limits, working honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and special advertisements.
- Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products store-wide.
- Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts cooperatively and professionally.
- Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
