Role Overview

Cashiers are responsible for providing friendly, accurate, and efficient service while supporting takeout orders, guest engagement, and overall Front of House operations. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Cashiers apply CHEERS through every interaction, using product knowledge, conversation, and awareness to anticipate guest needs, make thoughtful recommendations, and ensure guests leave with a positive impression of Parry's.

Responsibilities + Duties

• Apply CHEERS throughout the guest experience:
  • Cheerful Prompt Greet: Welcome guests promptly, open doors when possible, and acknowledge guests approaching the counter
  • Hospitality First: Prioritize guest needs while supporting teammates and maintaining a welcoming environment
  • Engage Guests: Build rapport through conversation, recognize first-time guests, and create opportunities for genuine connections
  • Ease Their Needs: Anticipate questions, clarify orders, provide accurate wait times, and offer condiments, utensils, and other takeout essentials
  • Ready for 'Em: Keep the cashier station organized, monitor order readiness, and help maintain smooth guest and takeout flow
  • Swipe That Card – Say Goodbye: Process payments accurately, thank guests sincerely, and invite them to return
• Answer phones promptly and professionally, guiding guests through the menu and ordering process
• Maintain strong knowledge of Parry's menu, signature items, current promotions, and beverage offerings
• Make thoughtful recommendations and suggest additional items to build sales and enhance the guest experience
• Accurately enter orders, process payments, and verify order details to minimize errors
• Coordinate with the kitchen and FOH team to communicate order status, timing, special requests, and guest concerns
• Verify takeout orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper packaging before handing them to guests
• Identify first-time guests and regularsto create a more personalized experience
• Explain Parry's loyalty program and help guests enroll when appropriate
• Support dining room execution by running food and drinks, pre-bussing, resetting tables, and offering refills
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant
• Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking duties accurately and on time
• Support teammates during peak periods by stepping into other FOH responsibilities as needed

Qualifications + Skills

• Previous restaurant, cashier, or guest service experience preferred
• Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills with a friendly, welcoming demeanor
• Comfortable engaging guests, explaining menu items, and making recommendations
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Comfortable handling payments and learning point-of-sale systems
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support the entire restaurant
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires
• Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 35 lbs. as needed
• Professional, energetic, and guest-focused demeanor
• Coachable with a willingness to learn and apply feedback in real time
