Job Responsibilities:

  1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  2. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and offers according to company policy.
  3. Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages, working honestly to control loss.
  4. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  5. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  6. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  7. Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  8. Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  9. Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  10. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  11. Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products.
  12. Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  13. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  14. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  15. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  16. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  17. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  18. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
