Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at check lanes.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons following established policies.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Support and assist vulnerable populations such as minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
