Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers in Americus, GA seeks a Retail Associate – Cashier. You will welcome customers, process transactions, and support fundraising through Round-Up programs.

You will be cross-trained to learn all areas of the retail operation. Part-time role averaging 20–25 hours weekly (32–40 full-time) with shifts Monday through Sunday; flexibility required for seasonal changes and donation volumes.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Basic math skills.
• Prior retail or customer service experience, required.
• 1 year of Cash handling experience, preferred.
• Warehouse experience, preferred.

The Americus retail store at 1607 E Lamar Street seeks a hard-working and dedicated Retail Associate – Cashier.

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.’s Retail Associate – Cashier responsibilities:

• Ensures that each guest receives outstanding customer service.
• Assists customers with purchases and pricing.
• Operates the cash register system and applies basic math skills, including, but not limited to, essential addition and subtraction of money.
• Understands item pricing and “color of the week.”
• Maintains the appearance of the sales floor and dressing room by organizing shelves, putting away carts, and returning merchandise from the dressing room to the sales floor.
• Asks customers to “Round-Up” totals in support of our mission and scholarship programs.
• Meets or exceeds daily retail store goals.
• Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

You will be hired as a Retail Associate – Cashier, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation.

Part-time positions average 20-25 hours per week, and full-time is 32-40 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (e.g., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.). Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. The Retail Associate Cashier must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.
