Job summary

County of Northampton seeks a Caseworker 2 within the Children, Youth, and Families division to provide a full range of social and case management services to residents of all ages. This role supports consumer-focused programs to improve social, economic, emotional, or physical well-being and requires casework skills to obtain information, access resources, and counseling to achieve service plan goals.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress with service providers and exercising initiative

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as County Caseworker 1.
• Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program.
• A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major.
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• This position provides a full range of social and case management services to county residents through consumer-focused programs.
• Work within the Children, Youth, and Families division to improve social, economic, emotional, or physical well-being.
• Utilize casework skills to obtain information from consumers to access resources and services.
• Provide counseling to achieve service plan goals and monitor consumer progress with providers.
