Job summary

Lakeside Book Company is seeking a skilled Casemaker Operator to join our Harrisonburg, VA facility. You will set up, adjust and operate the Crathern Casemaker and monitor safety, quality and productivity on each run.

You will lead a Material Handler, ensure adherence to bindery specifications, and maintain accurate data entry in our process systems. The role requires familiarity with adhesives, paper stock and finishing operations, with strong attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of complex machinery and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read measurements with a line gauge to ensure spec.
• Proficient in entering data into computer programs.
• Ability to read work orders and bindery specifications.
• Knowledge of paper stock qualities and machining requirements.
• Experience setting up and adjusting casemaking machines.
• Exert 20–50 lb occasionally and 10–25 lb frequently.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate the Crathern Casemaker while mentoring a Material Handler.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity of cases.
• Familiar with viscosity of animal glue and adjust as needed.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy per work orders and specs.
