Under direction, provides coordination of services for clients by conducting intake assessments and interviewing clients for program eligibility. Assists with the following programs: emergency services, money management and financial literacy, weatherization assistance, transportation, food programs, housing stability and homelessness assistance programs, and utility assistance programs.
Knowledge of: Community resources, human service agencies, programs and services available for veterans and other disadvantaged populations including homeless individuals, Various software and computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
Skill in: Organizational and initiative skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage time wisely, Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships, Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios
Ability to: Meet schedules and deadlines of the workload, Understand and carry out oral and written directions, Work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision, Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, state and local agencies, Work with diverse populations, Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files, Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries, Effectively speak, write and understand the English language, Effectively speak, write and understand a language other than English is preferred, Conduct oneself with tact and courtesy
