Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 48 college coursework hours completed.
• Pass NCLB in Reading, Writing, and Math after hire recommendation.
• Educational Aide II Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to acquire CDL.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Support development of independent living, community access, and vocational skills.
• Maintain records and reports as required by laws/regulations.
• Train, monitor, and coach students in classroom and community settings.
• Intervene in crises and assist with behavior as needed.
• Work with individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students throughout the day.
• Document student progress and performance.
• Inform teacher of student needs and problems.
• Transport students using a district vehicle.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

48 college hours

NCLB test in Reading/Writing/Math

Educational Aide II Certificate

CDL (ability to obtain)
