Job summary

The Guidance Center (TGC) in Kansas is seeking a Community Support Services Case Manager Supervisor to lead the CSS team in Leavenworth. The role involves recruiting, training, supervising staff, managing caseloads, and ensuring service quality in compliance with regulations.

The position emphasizes clinical oversight, ongoing staff development, and daytime crisis coverage. A Master’s degree in Social Work or related field with licensure is required, plus post-master’s clinical and supervisory

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or Professional Counseling, and licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as LMSW/LMLP/LCP/LMFT/LCMFT/LPC/LCPC or LSCSW by the first day of employment.
  • One-year post-masters clinical experience in a mental health setting, and minimum one year experience in program management and supervision of staff.
  • Preferred: experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and associated evidence-based practices, and prior experience as a case manager for SPMI adults and/or SED youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct orientation, training, supervision, and ongoing performance management of CSS staff within the assigned location.
  • Deliver comprehensive intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide outpatient therapy services for a designated caseload.
  • Deliver and oversee CSS services, including case management, skill-building, and rehabilitation services, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Provide case management services to assigned clients as needed for continuity of care.
  • Serve as the QMHP for non-therapy clients within the assigned county, ensuring plans of care development and review.
  • Provide supervision and clinical oversight to assigned CSS staff, including regular supervision and documentation review.
  • Monitor staff productivity, documentation compliance, and service delivery standards; implement corrective actions.
  • Support staff development through training, mentoring, and performance improvement planning.
  • Provide daytime crisis services in the assigned county when needed.
  • Work additional hours to complete required work.

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Community Support Services Case Manager Supervisor to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position provides leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for the CSS team in Leavenworth. The role is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff; monitoring performance and ensuring service quality; assigning and managing caseloads; and proactively addressing operational and clinical challenges. This position ensures that CSS services are delivered effectively, in compliance with regulatory standards, and aligned with organizational goals and best practices.

Primary Duties

1. Provide direct orientation, training, supervision, and ongoing performance management of Targeted Case Managers (TCMs), Case Managers (CMs), Adult Psychosocial Group Coordinator, client financial advocates, and other CSS staff within the assigned location.

2. Deliver comprehensive intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide outpatient therapy services for a designated caseload of clients, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices.

3. Deliver and oversee CSS services, including case management, skill-building, and rehabilitation services, ensuring quality, compliance, and person-centered care.

4. Provide case management services to assigned clients as needed to ensure continuity of care and timely service delivery.

5. Serve as the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) for non-therapy clients within the assigned county, ensuring development, implementation, and review of treatment plans and Plans of Care.

6. Provide supervision and clinical oversight to assigned CSS staff, including regular supervision, documentation review, and support with complex cases.

7. Monitor staff productivity, documentation compliance, and service delivery standards across CSS programs, implementing corrective actions and coaching as needed.

8. Support staff development through ongoing training, mentoring, and performance improvement planning to promote high-quality service delivery and staff retention.

9. Provide daytime crisis services in assigned county when needed.

10. Work additional hours when needed to complete required work.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Required: Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or Professional Counseling, and licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LMSW, LMLP, LCP, LMFT, LCMFT, LPC, LCPC, or LSCSW by the first day of employment.
