Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a licensed practical nurse with case management experience to assess and coordinate care for injured workers. This remote role partners with carriers, attorneys, medical providers, employers and employees to monitor progress and ensure timely, cost-effective care.

You will work from home with typical 8–12 hour shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed, while maintaining licensure and completing CEUs to keep clinical competencies current.

Qualifications

• LPN with active state licensure required.
• Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience.
• Case management and workers' compensation experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, phone etiquette, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Job PurposeResponsible for assessment, planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of injured/ill individuals involved in the medical case management process.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacilitate appropriate medical care/treatment for work and non-work-related injuries and illnesses.Working as an intermediary between carriers, attorneys, medical care providers, employers and employees to closely monitor the progress of the injured worker and report results back to the employer and insurance carrier.Ensure appropriate and cost-effective healthcare services, leading to a medically rehabilitated individual who is ready to return to an optimal level of work and functioning.Participate in the continual development and review of case management policies and protocols.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Key Performance IndicatorsAttaining a minimum of 95% on the quality score on all audits based on protocol utilizationMeeting department requirement to listen to four calls and complete self-evaluations of calls each quarter – 2 intake and 2 follow-upsExcept for nights and holidays log 7 billable hours per 8-hour shiftInitial follow-up assessment completed in <24 hr.Maintain nursing license in assigned statesEarn 15 job-related CEUs annually to improve clinical competenceAttend 75% of monthly staff/training meetingsQualificationsLPN with current, valid state licensure requiredMinimum of 2+ years clinical nursing experience requiredMinimum of 2+ years Emergency Room/ICU experience preferredCase Management and Workers compensation-related experience preferredExcellent interpersonal skills, phone etiquette, time management and organizational skills are essentialMust be proficient in Microsoft Office with programs such as Word and Excel, as well as have experience with Internet searches and a comfort level with other software programsMust be able to type 50 wpm minimumAbility to set priorities and work independently is essentialMust be able to pass a background check and drug test, as applicable for the roleWorking ConditionsTypically, 8-12 hour per day shift work, with the possibility of evening, night, weekend and holiday hours.Attend meetings and work with staff to complete projects and work assignments.This job operates in a professional office environment.
