Case Manager – Indigent Disposition ProgramLocation: Portland, ORSchedule: Full-Time | Monday - FridayPay: $23-$25/hr DOEWHO THEY ARE:Our client provides specialized services surrounding the respectful and timely care of unclaimed deceased individuals. Their work requires compassion, accuracy, discretion, and close coordination with families, healthcare providers, government agencies, funeral homes, and other community partners.This is a unique opportunity for someone who is highly organized, comfortable handling sensitive situations, and able to manage detailed cases from beginning to end.WHAT YOU'LL DO:As the Case Manager, you’ll coordinate the documentation, communication, and final disposition of cases within Oregon’s Indigent Disposition Program.Manage cases in accordance with Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board timelines and documentation requirementsComplete and maintain death certificates, physical case files, and electronic tracking recordsCoordinate with state agencies, VA eligibility and scheduling offices, and other organizations as neededResearch and locate potential relatives or contacts and send required notificationsCommunicate with families and acquaintances regarding program requirements and available optionsCoordinate the release, pickup, shipment, or transfer of remains when claimedMaintain communication with hospitals, hospice providers, the Medical Examiner’s Office, and receiving funeral homesSchedule case pickups, releases, and final dispositionCoordinate transportation of cremated remains to Willamette National Cemetery when applicablePrepare and submit completed case files to billing for reimbursement processing when appropriateWHAT YOU NEED:Strong organization and attention to detailAbility to manage documentation, deadlines, and multiple cases simultaneouslyProfessional and compassionate communication skillsComfort communicating with families, healthcare providers, government agencies, and funeral homesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalismStrong follow-through and ability to coordinate multiple parties throughout the case processTHE MUSTS:Ability to work with sensitive subject matter involving deceased individuals and grieving familiesAbility to maintain accurate and complete case documentationStrong written and verbal communicationDependability, discretion, and professionalismNext Steps:Click "Apply" or reach out to us directlyIsabel Jimenez(360) 553-7221ijimenez@optistaffing.comKeyshawn Thomas(360) 553-7218kthomas@optistaffing.com#LI-IJ1
