Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Kennedy Shelter Case Manager to provide dedicated case management for single clients at Kennedy Emergency Shelter in the Ft. Belvoir area.

You will assist clients with housing stability, access to services, and developing individualized plans using trauma-informed, housing-first approaches. Responsibilities include conducting strengths-based assessments, coordinating services (employment, housing, finances, mental health), and maintaining thorough records.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in human services/ related field or commensurate experience.
• 2+ years of case management/direct services/related experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing priorities and make sound judgments.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments to gauge client strengths, health, social needs, and employment readiness.
• Determine needed supports with clients to achieve stability and goals.
• Develop Individualized Service Plans.
• Coordinate delivery of services (employment, housing, finances, mental health, SSI).
• Provide crisis support and implement emergency procedures.
• Create and maintain client budgets and financial education; ensure rent/utilities are timely.
• Maintain complete client records and HMIS documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings; comply with policies.
