Job description

Overview

Family House is the only Teen Shelter in Ulster County, NY. The program is under new leadership and we are seeking a full-time Case Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model who our young people (12-17 years old) can look up to, and who their loved ones and our community partners can feel confident working with. The Case Manager should help youth feel welcome, safe, and accepted for who they are. Family House is determined to motivate residents to rediscover their value as a person, despite their circumstances. The program also works to have the youth identify their individual strengths and skills, establish attainable goals, develop independent living skills, and connect with a caring community as a pathway towards becoming future leaders.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of our young people. The Case Manager should be approachable, patient and understanding, and believe the best in our youth.
  • Able to remain calm under concerning/unforeseen crisis situations and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • Capable of multitasking, while demonstrating strong decision-making skills with safety in mind.
  • Flexible and maintain a work schedule that is beneficial to the program’s needs.
Qualifications
  • Background clearances from the State Central Registry and the NYS Justice Center.
  • A yearly health statement, valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • College degree preferred and/or relevant and commensurate experience.
  • Basic computer skills are useful (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Four references (2 professional and 2 personal).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bilingual is helpful but not necessary.
Hours and Pay Rate

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week with full benefits including health insurance.

Pay rate: $18.13 per hour
