Job Description

This is a TEMP-TO-PERM Care Manager RN position, created to meet and exceed service level requirements for our clients.

Requirements include a Master’s Degree and a valid LCSW or LCPC license.

Candidates should have 2-3 years of Behavioral Health experience, and 3-5 years of Utilization Management or Manager Care experience. Experience in inpatient, outpatient, and behavioral health clinics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review utilization of mental health and substance abuse services in inpatient and intermediate care settings.
• Collect and analyze utilization data.
• Assist with discharge planning and follow-up activities.
• Provide member assistance regarding mental health and substance abuse issues.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.
• Monitor care levels to ensure medical necessity and effectiveness.
• Perform concurrent reviews for inpatient and other levels of care.
• Develop and oversee discharge plans with providers and facilities.
• Inform members and providers about benefits, resources, and policies.
• Collaborate with Physician Advisors on clinical and authorization questions.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, data collection, and analysis.
• Work with community agencies as needed.
• Propose alternative treatment plans when necessary and advocate for patient needs.
• Interact professionally with providers to facilitate treatment.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of utilization management procedures and mental health resources.
• Experience in inpatient settings.
• Knowledge of DSM V or current diagnostic edition.
• Ability to analyze utilization issues and implement solutions.
• 2-3 years of Behavioral Health experience and 3-5 years of utilization management or managerial care experience.
• Experience in inpatient, outpatient, and behavioral health clinics.
• Preference for candidates in the Alpharetta, GA area; remote candidates are also considered.
• Comfortable with managing approximately 25 calls per day, primarily from providers, members, and families.
• 1-2 years of Managed Care/Clinical Review experience and 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred.

Additional Details

• Training will be web-based, lasting 2-3 weeks.
• Work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm.
• Must be proficient with navigating multiple systems, Outlook, Instant Messenger, and Email.

Qualifications

LCSW or LCPC license required.
