Job summary

Human Options Inc. seeks a Supervisor to oversee daily operations of housing programs for survivors of domestic violence in Irvine, CA. You will coordinate services, monitor grants, and ensure policy compliance while leading a team in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment.

You will supervise staff, recruit and train new members, and support shelter operations and on-call coverage. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; a related degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or related field preferred.
  • Two years of advocacy, case management, and/or counseling program administration experience in Domestic Violence.
  • One year in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic database/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee permanent housing programs and coordinate supportive services for survivors and families.
  • Maintain knowledge of affordable housing, HUD, SCES, and local housing authorities.
  • Monitor grants, assist with reporting, and ensure grant deliverables are met.
  • Oversee daily operations for efficient service delivery and safety standards.
  • Lead weekly Case Management Team meetings and participate in shelter operations and on-call rotation.
  • Supervise staff, coach, train, and promote trauma-informed services.
  • Recruit and develop staff; foster collaboration and a positive work environment.

SummaryA supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a team. Supervisors require the ability to manage staff, ensure productivity, and maintain a harmonious work environment. Supervisors act as the bridge between senior leadership and direct staff, translating strategic goals into actionable tasks and ensuring that agency policies, procedures, and best practices are upheld.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProgram Administration and Operational OversightOversee permanent housing programs and coordinate all supportive services to assist domestic violence survivors and their families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.Maintain knowledge and expertise in the areas of affordable housing, domestic violence, homelessness, HUD, the Survivor Coordinated Entry System (SCES), and local housing authorities and initiatives.Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient service delivery and organizational effectiveness.Monitor grant contracts, assist with grant reporting, and ensure timely completion of grant deliverables.Maintain compliance with agency policies, procedures, and safety standards.Monitor program budgets and track expenditures.Lead and facilitate weekly Case Management Team (CMT) meetings and other multidisciplinary team meetings as needed per grant contracts.Support Emergency Shelter operations and participate in an on-call rotation, as appropriate.Staff SupervisionOversee a team of employees, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.Coach, train, motivate, and empower staff to ensure clients receive services and referrals in alignment with the principles of trauma-informed care.Monitor team performance, ensure staff compliance with agency and contract expectations, and address any issues that arise.Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, set goals, and reviewprogress.Recruit and train new employees and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field preferred.Two (2) years of experience with advocacy, case management, and/or counseling program administration experience in Domestic Violence.One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel and working knowledge of computer database program entry and report generation.Complete the 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate certification training post-hire.
