Job summary

DFA/Kemps is hiring a Case Dock Laborer to perform a variety of duties including handling cases, operating pallets, and maintaining clean work areas in a dairy processing facility. You will complete required paperwork and adhere to GMP guidelines and safety standards.

The role is full-time, with a Monday through Saturday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Sundays off, and a benefits package including healthcare, 401(k), and paid time off. Previous dock work is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean equipment in the assigned area.
• Slide case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate.
• Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays.
• Complete paperwork clearly and accurately.
• Follow GMP and health and safety regulations.

JOB SUMMARY

DFA/Kemps has immediate job openings for a well-versed Case Dock Laborer to perform an array of functions including

• Maintain and clean all equipment in assigned area
• Slide case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate
• Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays
• Confirm empty case area is full of cases at end of shift to help next shift with production run
• Correctly prioritize which truck to empty first based on input from supervisors, yard drivers, or others
• Continuously scan the area and straighten up to reduce trip and slip hazards
• Spot broken or otherwise unusable cases and remove them to the designated area
• Handle returned and truck inventory product as instructed
• Ensure trailers are unloaded and washed in a timely and efficient manner while keeping dock doors closed at all times when not in use
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's
• Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Case Dock Laborers will be responsible for handling finished or raw materials, while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and communicating effectively with all departments and meeting daily deadlines.

SCHEDULE: Mon. - Sat. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Every Sunday off with a rotating day off during the week

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Must be able to push, pull, stand, walk, climb, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be able to work in a wet environment
• May have some exposure to dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
