Stoel Rives LLP in Seattle has an immediate opening for a Case Assistant who will support a range of billable projects and tasks. The role reports to the Project Services Supervisor and requires flexibility to perform essential functions as needed.
Responsibilities include document assembly, preparing indices, creating exhibits, managing time entries, and coordinating with paralegals, attorneys, and clients.

Individuals hired are required to perform any or all listed essential job functions depending upon the work requirements of the day. Case Assistants report to the Project Services Supervisor.

Must be able to type a minimum of 40 wpm with minimal errors. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. Must be capable of learning (and may be required to have working knowledge of) on‑line research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis. Must be familiar with operation of office equipment, including personal computer, printer, photocopier, and telephone.
Operate a telephone, personal computer, and all types of photocopy equipment and other necessary office equipment; read and comprehend handwritten and typed notes or instructions; type on a computer keyboard in a sitting or standing position for extended periods of time during a 7.5‑hour workday; learn and effectively use Firm style and software applications; accurately proofread documents; accurately record and deliver phone messages; carry files, binders, and pouches of files for short distances. May be required to possess valid driver’s license, have a good driving record, and drive personal vehicle to accomplish work assignments. Must be capable of delivering and obtaining documents from downtown offices and court buildings. May be required to travel out of town and/or out of state to accomplish work assignments.
High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred. At least 1 year of experience in a law firm environment required.
This is a hybrid position, non-exempt, and eligible for overtime compensation. Regular office hours are 8:30 - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Working overtime and on holidays may be required and may be on short notice.
The pay range for this position is $51,000 - $86,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
