United States Courts is seeking a Case Administrator to manage electronic docketing, ensure proper case linking, and provide customer service across a high-volume environment. The role involves processing filings, notices, and judgments, while maintaining records with strict confidentiality.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and experience with CM/ECF and Microsoft Office.
Overview of the Position Case administrators perform various functions and are responsible for maintaining and processing case information and managing the progression of cases from opening to final disposition, in accordance with approved internal controls, procedures, and rules. Case Administrators serve as records and reproduction clerks. They receive and review incoming court documents for conformity with rules, prepare cases for closing and records keeping purposes, and perform customer service and some financial duties. Employees at this level may also prepare cases for closing and/or transmission to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals by ensuring that all necessary orders are entered, and proceedings are completed accurately.This position is eligible for a career ladder promotion. Once eligibility and performance requirements are met, an employee can be promoted to a higher grade without further competition.
To qualify for the position of Case Administrator at CL - 24, the applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent and must possess a minimum of one year of specialized experience. Classification determination will be based upon the candidate’s overall experience, qualifications, and education. Specialized work experience attained in other governmental and private sector positions may be creditable, but that experience must be evaluated to determine whether the level of experience is equivalent to work at the specified CL grade level.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience requiring the regular and recurring application of clerical procedures that demonstrate the ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws and involve the routine use of specialized terminology and automated software and equipment for word processing, data entry or report generation. Such experience is commonly encountered in law firms, legal counsel offices, banking and credit firms, educational institutions, social service organizations, insurance companies, real estate and title offices, and corporate headquarters or human resources/payroll operations.
