IKEA Costa Mesa is seeking a Retail Carts Co-worker to help create an enjoyable shopping experience. You will load/unload carts, stock tools, and assist customers while maintaining a clean loading zone.

This permanent part-time role offers 12–20 hours per week with night/weekend shifts, at $19.50 per hour. Benefits and a supportive team environment accompany opportunities to grow within the IKEA culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort with outdoor work 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload carts and keep the loading zone clean.
• Stock and maintain shopping tools (carts, bags, maps, etc.).
• Fill tools at closing and ensure displays are safe.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues, escalating when needed.
• Support in FSHO, Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• Provide a positive customer experience during order handoff.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Carts Co-worker ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, you will:

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.
• Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.
• Ensure physical shopping tools are filled at closing.
• Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, elevate matters to a manager when needed.
• Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
• When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
• When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.
