Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Cartography Technician Intern at our office in Yarmouth, Maine. You will create, edit, evaluate and maintain cartographic data for Garmin products, following established methods and processes.

The role requires pursuing a Geosciences-related degree, familiarity with cartography principles, and strong communication in a collaborative team environment. A Garmin benefits program is available for interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Geosciences or related field.
• Basic working knowledge of digital cartographic principles.
• Proficient with Windows and PC applications.
• Ability to learn and apply established processes/tools.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal/technical communication skills.
• Ability to document work thoroughly and organize findings.
• Enthusiastic, accountable, and capable of working in a team.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain cartographic data per Garmin processes.
• Follow detailed instructions under mentor supervision.
• Submit work for peer review and act on feedback.
• Communicate status of tasks to supervisor or mentor.
• Participate in data evaluation, processing, and verification.
• Identify opportunities to improve product features and settings.
• Collaborate with teammates to achieve cartography goals.
