Job summary

Meijer Inc. is hiring an entry-level team member in Romulus, MI to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks and customer service. You will interact with customers and support service desks, stores, and parking areas, contributing to a positive shopping experience.

You will work alongside departments and perform duties across cart collection, trash removal, cleaning and basic store operations, with opportunities for growth and development within the Meijer Rewards program.

Qualifications

• Able to lift, carry, push, pull, and bend while handling products or equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport shopping carts from outside to inside the store.
• Clean up trash in parking lot, lawn, and store areas.
• Safely operate snow removal equipment to clear snow.
• Handle perishable and salvage returns.
• Perform basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Assist service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking areas.
• Collaborate with departments across Health & Beauty, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card & Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.

As an entry-level team member, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks related to additional services provided by our store, product and customer service. What You'll be Doing:

• Cart attendants will ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
• Coordinating and collecting of the parking lot, lawn, and inside store trash.
• Safely use snow removal equipment for properly removing snow.
• Perishable and salvage returns.
• Basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Working with our service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking lot areas.
• Working with departments: Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.
