Job summary

Tract Capital seeks a Manager, Carrier & Vendor Relations to lead sourcing, contracting, and vendor management for all third-party connectivity across data center campuses. You will guide a small team, own pricing, SLAs, and vendor performance, and coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Engineering to meet campus build schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Telecommunications, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years in carrier/vendor management, telecom procurement, network/connectivity sourcing, or related.
  • 3+ years directly managing a small team and leading vendors.
  • Experience coordinating specialists and cross-functional commercial efforts.
  • Strong background in either carrier procurement or telecom contracts; familiarity with both.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Directly lead, manage, and develop a small team of three specialists — the Carrier Relations Specialist, Satellite & Backup Connectivity Manager, and the Contract Administrator — owning hiring, onboarding, goal-setting, and performance management for the group.
  • Allocate work across the team, balance workloads against campus build and turn-up schedule, and escalate complex matters while coaching each member.
  • Source and procure third-party connectivity — lit circuits, dark fiber, wavelengths, IRUs and leases, internet-access circuits, carrier/5G, satellite/backup, and CBRS spectrum.
  • Negotiate and manage pricing, terms, MSAs/SOWs, renewals, and contract expirations, in partnership with Legal and Procurement.
  • Own carrier and vendor relationship and performance management, including SLA definition, escalations, and KPIs.
  • Coordinate physical delivery and turn-up — provisioning timelines, cross-connects, and handoffs to engineers.
  • Manage temporary and backup connectivity during construction to ensure campus connectivity.
  • Establish renewal calendar, records, inventory, and drive telecom expense/cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Drive process improvement and standardized quoting/ordering workflows.
  • Contribute carrier and connectivity input to client-facing solutions and collaborate with multiple engineering and operations teams.
