Job purpose

Acting as Carrier Sales Representative, facilitate the achievement of business goals through sales activities including managing a freight portfolio from pickup to delivery, providing and negotiating freight rates, building carrier relationships, and leveraging industry knowledge to influence decision-making processes.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Provide and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers and the internal sales team to ensure maximum profitability
  • Coordinate available customer freight with motor carrier equipment
  • Support motor carriers to build business relationships
  • Collaborate with the Customer Sales team to streamline processes
  • Manage performance expectations through carrier account metrics
  • Communicate with motor carriers about shipment tracking and issue resolution
  • Verify freight charges, confirm Bill of Lading receipt, and resolve payables discrepancies before final payment
  • Identify lanes and carriers to source capacity and expand your network
  • Be available outside the office for urgent issues
  • Work weekend shifts (1-2 per quarter, mainly on Saturdays)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of carrier sales experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to market and company needs
  • Ability to multi-task and use multiple software systems
  • PTO, company holidays, healthcare, insurance, 401k, onsite gym
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $49,000 to $55,000 plus commissions.
