A Day in the Life of the Carrier Sales Manager:


Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Carrier Sales Manager. This position is responsible for targeting and solution selling telecom providers and strategic businesses that require high bandwidth, custom or complex infrastructure and connectivity solutions. This role requires business development, proactive follow-up, telecommunications experience, and complex management skills to support long-term business opportunities and strategic relationships.


  • Identify appropriate partnerships within the media vertical model
  • Solution sell to broadcasters, media companies, content distribution networks, and large carriers
  • Target and solution sell to hyperscaler, OTT, AI companies, and data center clients
  • Engage in business development and proactive sales in new and existing markets
  • Manage complex projects, including financial modeling and sales solution analysis
  • Negotiate contracts
  • Evaluate the competitive marketplace
  • Coordinate internal communications for bids and solutions
  • Manage, up-sell, and renew agreements of assigned accounts
  • Track and report ongoing activities
  • Maintain and report on targeted objectives
  • Oversee lifecycle management of accounts
  • Perform other duties, including sales management and cellular account support

What You Bring to the Table:


  • 8-10 years of recent experience with data services in telecommunications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Success in telecommunications carrier sales
  • Experience in media, hyperscaler, OTT, and data center sales
  • Strong regional network with data center customers and telecom providers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives
  • Experience in data communications sales, consultative sales, and account planning
  • Technical knowledge of network design and local access services (a plus)
  • Knowledge of Dark Fiber, E-Access, E-NNI, IP, Wavelength, Spectrum, and next-gen services
  • Understanding of FTTC, Small Cell technology (a plus)
  • Operational knowledge of telecom ordering, provisioning, and billing
  • Familiarity with marketing tools and processes
  • Decision-making and customer retention skills
  • Strong communication and business writing skills
  • Proven business development and carrier sales record
  • Experience with financial models like ROI and IRR
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Existing carrier relationships for sales leverage
  • Involvement in trade and commercial organizations
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and conferences
  • Effective communication skills via phone, email, and in person
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Focus, composure, problem-solving skills, and big-picture thinking
  • Travel up to 20% for key meetings and events

Education:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, Economics, or Finance

Salary:


Base salary ranges from $110K to $125K annually, plus bonuses and commissions. Actual pay varies based on skills and experience.


Commission Details:


Targeted commissions at full attainment are $72,000 annually, with potential for higher earnings for overachievement.
