PENN Power Group in Matawan, NJ, is seeking a Carrier Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, and repair refrigeration units for commercial trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment.

You will work on heavy-duty refrigeration systems, diagnose issues, and perform preventative maintenance, with cross training for Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, and Fleet repair. Join a team that values safety and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty refrigeration repair or maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required for handling refrigerants.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in refrigeration or HVAC preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains and repairs refrigeration units, and all systems/components related to heavy duty tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
• Install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration cycles.
• Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure proper functioning.
• Recharge refrigerant systems and replace or repair parts, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
• Performs pre-start up checks on equipment and communicates repairs necessary
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, dealing with various temperatures and conditions.
• Rebuilding components on equipment
• Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit
