Job summary

McLane Global, a leading food-grade logistics company, is seeking a Carrier Sales & Carrier Management professional in Kentucky to drive performance, negotiate contracts, and onboard asset-based carriers.

You will monitor KPIs, conduct QBRs, manage rate schedules, and align lane rates with customer commitments, while ensuring compliance across systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
3–6+ years in carrier sales, carrier management, or freight brokerage.
Experience in managed transportation with contracted carrier relationships.
Ability to build processes in a lean, less tech-supported environment.
Experience negotiating and onboarding asset-based carriers.
Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
Knowledge of TMS platforms and freight market dynamics.

Responsibilities

Set goals and monitor KPIs for carrier network growth, lane coverage, margin, and on-time performance.
Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with each carrier to evaluate performance and service trends.
Resolve escalated carrier or service issues.
Source, qualify, and onboard new asset-based carriers to reduce reliance on the brokered network.
Execute broker/carrier agreements and manage onboarding documentation (insurance, authority, W-9, safety packet).
Negotiate and establish base rates, fuel surcharges, and accessorial schedules by lane.
Build long-term, direct carrier partnerships to improve service and cost control.
Ensure onboarded carriers are load-ready across required systems (TMS, rate tables, compliance tracking).
Monitor ongoing carrier compliance (insurance, safety ratings, authority, CSA scores).
Collaborate with sales and operations to align lane rates with customer commitments.
Track freight market trends and adjust rate strategy to protect margin.
