Job description

Who We Are

SAFE Transportation (Powered by Dynamic Connections) is a premier, high‑touch freight brokerage that provides intelligent, reliable logistics solutions for customers ranging from Fortune 10 companies to small, privately owned manufacturers across North America. Every shipment we manage is handled with precision, clear communication, and accountability – delivering peace of mind and a seamless transportation experience. In an industry where the cost of failure is high, we’ve built our reputation by doing things the right way and following through every step of the way.

At SAFE, we treat our employees the way we treat our customers – with honesty, integrity, and respect. We operate as collaborative teams where everyone contributes, supports one another, and takes ownership of their work. While some tasks are handled individually, every role is part of the bigger picture, and success comes from working together.

Role Overview

At SAFE, we manage complex, high‑stakes shipments while making logistics seamless for our customers. We are seeking a Carrier Capacity Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong carrier relationships while supporting the operation teams. This role requires a proactive, driven individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in delivering solutions, building lasting partnerships, and contributing to the long‑term success of our team.

You’ll join a tight‑knit operations team that works collaboratively to support our diverse portfolio of customers. Transportation moves fast, priorities can shift quickly, and every shipment matters – so we look for people who thrive under pressure, take ownership, and enjoy solving problems in real time.

If you are accountable, hardworking, and a team player who values both customer success and collaboration, SAFE offers a challenging, fast‑paced, and rewarding environment where you can build a meaningful career – not just take a job.

Strategic Sourcing & Lane Development
  1. Capacity Procurement: Proactively identify and qualify asset‑based carriers to service recurring lanes and project freight.
  2. The "Buy" Strategy: Execute purchasing strategies that improve margin consistency. You aren’t just covering loads; you are buying capacity at the right price point to ensure long‑term profitability.
Negotiation & Pricing Support
  1. Rate Negotiation: Negotiate standing orders and dedicated pricing with carriers, moving relationships from transactional spot‑rates to contract rates.
  2. Benchmarking: Monitor market indices (DAT, FreightWaves, etc.) to ensure our procurement costs remain competitive.
Operational Excellence (For Sourced Lanes)
  1. Carrier Accountability: Ensure carriers you onboard adhere to service requirements for the specific lanes they service (tracking, equipment quality, on‑time performance).
  2. CRM / TMS Management: Maintain impeccable records in our TMS (Revenova), ensuring carrier profiles, lane preferences, and rate history are accurate and actionable for the broader team.
  3. Troubleshooting: Act as the primary escalation point for the strategic carriers you manage, solving high‑level issues that threaten the relationship.
Desired Qualities
  • Exceptionally detail‑oriented – you catch errors before they become problems and take pride in getting things right the first time.
  • High energy and focused – you thrive under pressure and deadlines in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment.
  • Self‑motivated – you take ownership of your work and consistently perform at your best without needing constant oversight.
  • Highly collaborative – you actively support your teammates and work together to ensure success for customers and the team.
  • A relationship‑builder – you care deeply about your customers and carriers, treating their business as if it were your own and fostering long‑term partnerships.
Our Pledge to You and What We Offer
  • This is a full‑time, permanent position working with SAFE’s close‑knit, high‑performing team. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where every contribution matters. This is an in‑office role, rooted deeply in collaboration with the team.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits, including tools and technology to help you do your best work.
  • Performance‑based incentives where results are recognized quickly, and clear opportunities for advancement for high performers.
  • Real professional development – SAFE invests in your growth, offering training, mentorship, and opportunities to expand your skills and career.
  • A culture rooted in integrity, teamwork, and accountability. We celebrate successes together, host team events, and recognize contributions in meaningful ways.

SAFE is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace. We value people who are accountable, collaborative, and driven to make a difference – people who want to build a long‑term career, not just a job.
