Job summary

Qualifications

• Post secondary carpentry coursework to support technical lab services.
• Two years’ experience as a Carpentry lab assistant at high school level or above, or equivalent.
• Valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of basic safety principles for hand tools and active construction site safety protocols.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Assist Carpentry faculty to enable students to complete assignments.
• Demonstrate workshop techniques and procedures to individuals or small groups.
• Organize equipment and supplies for use and ensure safety and maintenance of lab/site.
• Support instructor to promote student success in educational goals.
• Engage in administrative tasks and projects for the department.
