Job summary

Britten, Inc. is a world-class event fabricator based in Traverse City, MI, seeking hardworking carpentry professionals to join our BoxPop division. You will assist with fabrication, read blueprints, and operate hand and power tools to build high-quality, custom projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a carpentry or skilled trades capacity.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings, or willing to learn.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE as required.
• Deftness and attention to detail.
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Must have an eye for detail and be reliable with a "we say yes" attitude
• Self-motivated individual with ability to follow instructions and work alone or work effectively within a team

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabrication according to blueprints and shop drawing requirements.
• Use hand tools, gauges, dials and/or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.
• Use precise measurement tools during the fabrication process.
• Operate carpentry, fabrication and/or hand and power tool equipment.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Utilize other hand and power tools as needed to complete tasks.
• Cut materials to specifications and assemble as required.
• Keep the shop and work area clean and organized.
• Meet short deadlines without compromising quality.
