Job summary

Fauxcades Inc in Dallas is seeking a Carpenter for our Event Fabrication team. You will help construct and install scenic elements for live productions, bringing strong carpentry skills and fabrication know-how. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with hand and power tools, basic blueprint reading, and are prepared to cross-train for additional duties and installations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and install scenic elements for event productions.

  • Assist with wrapping, labeling, and moving finished inventory to outbound zones.
  • Support cross-training and perform installations when needed.

Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Carpenter in our Event Fabrication department to join our team, responsible for constructing and installing scenic elements for event productions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, fabrication, and construction techniques, with the willingness to learn. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision craftsmanship and creative problem-solving.

Duties
  • Be able to use basic carpentry tools such as table saws, miter saws, track saws, air tools, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Be able to accurately read and use measuring tools.
  • CnC Routing knowledge and/or design knowledge is not required but highly desired.
  • Knowledge of prop and scenic building is a plus
  • Monitor and implement new production items provided by the Lead Carpenter through Custom and/or Modification ticket.
  • Seek and organize assistance from Fauxcades crew and management for inventory repairs, touch up etc.
  • Coordinate with Lead Carpenter to acquire new materials as needed.
  • Seek input from Project Manager and Lead Carpenter when in doubt of quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and lead carpenter to gain sales staff approval for new construction items and modified inventory items.
  • Maintain and assess department common goods and par stock items.
  • Take responsibility of new, updated and repaired items that exit their departments.
  • Coordinate with Lead Carpenter and Crew Manager to acquire items needing repair, and touch ups as needed.
  • Maintain, assess and process the items in the damaged items zone.
  • Coordinate with Crew Manager to have completed items wrapped and removed from department work areas.
  • Aid crew with wrapping and labeling finished inventory and custom projects and move to designated outbound zones.
  • Must be willing to be cross trained, learn additional duties and aid with job installations if needed.
Experience
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking techniques i
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics interpretation
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and fabrication machinery.
  • Experience in remodeling or renovation industries a plus
  • Knowledge of electrical experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on large-scale projects.
