Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment seeks a skilled carpenter to join our maintenance team in Orlando. You will perform general carpentry for in-park builds and repairs, using blueprints to select materials and ensure safe guest experiences.

You will operate tools, maintain safety standards, and assist the carpentry supervisor while collaborating with ambassadors and vendors on daily tasks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of onsite carpentry experience.
• Experience with cabinet building, framing, and countertops.
• Ability to read blueprints or detailed sketches.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Comfort working at heights and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry for in-park builds and repairs, ensuring guest safety.
• Select proper materials and follow project plans and blueprints.
• Maintain tools and equipment; adhere to safety policies.
• Coordinate with ambassadors, vendors, and guests; support carpentry supervisor.
• Assist with installations and routine park upkeep as needed.

What you get to do

You will roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and perform carpentry work in order to keep our parks looking sharp. Specifically, you will: Perform all functions of general carpentry work for in-park builds, repairs, installations, providing a safe environment for guests and employees. Select proper materials for jobs Dependable performance in terms of attendance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests. Perform other duties as assigned. Assist carpentry supervisor leading carpentry team.

What it takes to succeed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of onsite experience in the carpentry trade
• Experience with cabinet building and framing, fabrications of solid surface and laminate countertops, roof repairs, drywall installation, concrete work, and more.
• Ability to work with blueprints or in-depth sketches
• Ability to operate and maintain power and hand tools and other equipment in good safe condition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess basic mathematical skills
• Work at heights up to 100ft, work on scaffolding up to 24 ft, and ability to climb and work off of ladders
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, loud noises/vibrations and cold/heat temperature extremes
• Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, holidays and duty coverage.
