Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a carpenter to construct and repair building frameworks and structures onsite. You will handle tasks such as framing, stairs, doors, siding, and drywall while paying close attention to project details and safety.

You will read blueprints, measure materials, and assist with formwork, installation, and labor support as needed. A valid driver’s license, safety footwear, and strong reliability are required, with OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Follow safe work practices per safety program.
• Take initiative and ask questions.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
• Reliable and punctual with transportation and attendance.
• Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading preferred.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembly and removal of concrete forms for concrete installation.
• Build and install window-frames, doors, doorframes, stairways, partitions, millwork, trim, siding, drywall, and overall building frames.
• Ensure flooring, roofing, and drywall layout are level and compatible.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
• Measure material quantities and cut or shape wood or other materials accordingly.
• Load, unload, identify and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools.
• Job shadow in area assignments to progress knowledge and skills.
• Assist with area housekeeping and safe jobsite practices.
• Promote a safe work environment and secure the jobsite daily.
