Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Carpenter II to contribute to the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles.

You will study blueprints, build decks, stairs, roofs, and other structures, assist journeymen with layouts, unload materials, and maintain site safety. A high school diploma or GED and at least three years of carpentry experience are required; trade or technical school certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years carpentry experience.
• Trade or technical school certification preferred.
• Ability to work with precision and read English drawings.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and active listening.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints or building plans to determine material requirements and measurements.
• Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other structures; install shelves and set up site per erosion control plan.
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms.
• Assist journeyman and foreman with layouts and elevations.
• Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials.
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry tasks and assist with various carpentry trades.
• Develop relationships across diverse teams and perform other duties as assigned.
