Job description

Responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principals.

Key Result Areas (Essential Functions)

• Set up trailers
• Study blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine materials required and measure dimensions of structures to be fabricated
• Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures between office units; plan tables, install shelves, set up tool trailers and/or conexes, silt fences, and/or straw bales; set up site per erosion control plan
• Hand‑set forms and/or assemble gang forms
• Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting of grades and elevations
• Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect all pre‑fabricated materials
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry tasks including hand set walls, footings, set gang wall forms, drywall, finish carpentry (doors, frames, hardware), millwork, and cabinetry
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of two years of experience as a carpenter
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma is a plus

Essential Physical Requirements

• Always: see (naturally or corrected), hear (naturally or corrected), balance, arm steadiness, dirt, dust, standing, walking
• Frequently: heat/cold, heights, crouching/stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, reaching (high or low)
• Occasionally: grease/oil, vibration, confined spaces, pushing/pulling 50 lbs or more, lifting/carrying 50 lbs or more
• All heavy lifting or carrying over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
