Job summary

Mortenson in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Carpenter II to support wood and wallboard installations, read blueprints, measure dimensions, and build temporary structures on site in compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of carpentry experience, can hand-set forms, and works with a team to meet schedules. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to lift heavy materials are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years carpentry experience.
• Trade or technical school certification preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set up trailers.
• Study blueprints or building plans to determine material requirements and measurements.
• Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves and set up site per erosion control plan.
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms.
• Assist journeyman and foreman with grades and elevations.
• Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials.
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry tasks (walls, footings, drywall, doors, millwork, cabinetry).
• Build relationships across the team and perform other duties as assigned.
