Clemson University in Seneca, SC is seeking a skilled carpenter/maintenance professional to perform routine and advanced carpentry, remodeling, and repairs. The role includes training junior staff, leading in the absence of a supervisor, and ensuring safety while meeting project timelines.
Responsibilities cover design, fabrication, installation, and finishing of woodwork, doors, trim, ceilings and cabinetry. Strong reading of plans and collaboration with facilities teams are essential.
Performs carpentry and related duties requiring routine and advanced degrees of professional skills and technical knowledge. Performs maintenance, remodeling and repairs involving carpentry. Provides training and mentorship to less experienced employees. Serves as lead in absence of lead. Subject to callback and unscheduled work hours as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.

Expected Salary Range $39,300 - $42,279 Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Emergency Response - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
