Job summary

The Department of Health at Kalaupapa Settlement in Kalawao County, Hawaii, seeks a Carpenter I to support essential facilities and infrastructure in a unique, isolated community. This position requires legal authorization to work in the United States.

You will perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, may supervise helpers, and contribute to building, maintenance, and repairs within a self-contained settlement accessible only by air or a challenging trail.

Qualifications

• Legal Authorization To Work: U.S. citizenship or eligible status.
• FOUR (4) YEARS of work experience in rough and finished carpentry; or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of skilled carpentry work in construction, alteration and repair of structural woodwork.
• May supervise one or more Carpenter Helpers or other helpers.
