Job summary

A government department in Hawaii is seeking a skilled carpenter to perform a wide variety of carpentry work, including construction and repair of wood structures. Supervisory responsibilities over helpers are required. Candidates must have four years of experience in carpentry or an equivalent mix of experience and training. Recruitment Number 26-0120 - The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Human Services, Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA).

Responsibilities
  • Independently performs a wide variety of skilled carpentry work in the construction, alteration and repair of structural woodwork and wooden articles.
  • Supervises one or more Carpenter Helpers or other helpers assisting in the work.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • Experience and Training: FOUR (4) YEARS of work experience in performing a variety of rough and finished carpentry work, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
