Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Carpenter to join our Operations team on a Gainesville, VA project. This full-time position requires 5 years of construction experience and the ability to read basic drawings, with a strong emphasis on safety compliance (OSHA 10, fall protection, MEWP awareness).

You will construct and maintain safety handrails, perform miscellaneous carpentry tasks, and support field supervision on a variety of sites.

Qualifications

• 5 years of construction experience.
• Must be able to read basic drawings.
• Training on construction safety protocols (e.g., OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform—boom and scissor).
• Provide primary support to field supervision and demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues.
• Be agile/mobile, remain alert, stand or walk for long periods, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle, and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, read/write, and see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Lift and carry materials weighing 50–100 lbs., 75% of the time.
