Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking a Carpenter Helper for the West Bartow Reclamation Facility in Kingston, GA.

The role supports carpenters on site, helping to measure, cut, and install wood structures for heavy civil projects while gaining hands-on experience across commercial and industrial sites. Responsibilities include marking guidelines, assembling wooden components, assisting with awning or decking installations, and using hand and power tools safely.

Qualifications

• 1-3 Years Verifiable Experience Preferred
• Requires ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, highway structures, walls, and additional structures
• May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
• Uses carpenter's belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machinery
